Good morning Cary! I know most of you have heard about the water main break news but if you haven’t the city recommended that people use ReadyWake Alerts to stay up to date on water leaks, flooding, weather, police activity, and more.

Writing this late on Monday, so any new updates before this sends in the AM would be found there instead. Last update I saw was that water test results were expected overnight into today.

Anyway, here’s what you can expect in Today’s issue:

While everyone is watching the water, some good news came out of Town Hall last week. The Soccer Tournament's (TST) fourth year in Cary was its biggest yet with an estimated $16.2 million in direct economic impact, up 10 percent from last year, per the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau. Of nearly 58,000 attendees, over 34,000 came from outside Wake County, filling more than 22,000 hotel room nights and generating $600,000 in local tax revenue.

The world watched too as TST's NBC semifinal was showing to some 433,000 viewers, with online audiences tuning in from more than 180 countries.

The Cary Cup, the youth version played at parks across Cary, Apex, and Holly Springs, added another $1.48 million and 10,000 attendees of its own.

TST is set to be here through 2029, and WakeMed Soccer Park hosts both the NCAA men's and women's College Cups this December.

Family-owned and operated since 1991, Kashin has been a home away from home for many over the last 30 years. This small tucked away shop located over in the Crossroads is home to some of the best authentic sushi and sashimi (plus you can order online for pickup).

There's a real sake list too, filtered and unfiltered across every price range, plus they are pretty friendly to those with restricted diets or preferences. Fair warning though, it's a small kitchen, so busy nights do happen. Surprisingly great spot for a little date night, so don’t judge the location from the outside. Make sure to stop in and see what you’ve been missing.

Lunch runs Monday through Saturday, 11 to 2. Dinner every night, 5 to 9.

Running through the end of September the town of Cary is offering up to 200 trees across the city so submit an interest form if you’d like a free one.

A keen reddit user pointed out some newly installed EV chargers (CCS & NACS) across from Chuy’s, looks like they just started running recently the user points out.

Tuesday, September 15th: $5 Movie Tuesdays - All day · Paragon Theaters at Fenton Five-dollar tickets, every Tuesday for any movie at any shows, all day long.

Wednesday, September 16th: Live at The Bark Bar: Sam Trebing - 6PM to 9PM · Downtown Cary Park hosta a free pop-up live music at the dog-friendly bar. Sam Trebing plays Country / Americana takes on covers from classics to modern hits.

Thursday, September 17th: Cary Dinner Club, Night One - 6:30PM · Last call for a seat at the first ever Cary Dinner Club. A table of neighbors you (hopefully) haven't met yet, signups close Tuesday evening (tonight).

Thursday, September 17th: Line Dancing Boot Camp - Fenton and PBR hosts a weekly Thursday boots-on lesson. This is a ticketed event but also a dedicated lesson. We’ve had a few people ask about dancing, so wanted to include more there.

Saturday, September 19th: 11th Annual Asia Fest + Dragon Boat Racing - 9AM · Koka Booth Amphitheatre The weekend's headliner: dragon boats racing on their Symphony Lake plus a full day of performances, food, and culture from across the region.

Saturday, September 19th: Juliet Books Grand Opening Celebration - 10AM to 8PM · Juliet Books Downtown's independent bookstore makes it official with special guests and a full day of celebration.
