Hello & Good Morning Cary! We’ve got an exciting announcement today as well as a couple updates to cover since we last spoke on Friday. Hope you all were able to stay dry at Lazy Daze on Saturday morning, luckily the weekend cleared up afterwards.

Anyway, here’s what you can expect in Today’s issue:

Here's something fun: With 16,000+ Raleigh and Cary readers, I figured it was finally time for us to have the chance to say hello.

If you're new here, I run a Dinner Club. It's simple. We pick a slower weeknight where local restaurants could use the business and then we:

We make sure everything is walking distance, we match you with similar people, and we all leave with new friends and good memories.

This time, Raleigh and Cary are joining up for one big dinner in Downtown Cary on September 17th at 6:30PM.

All are welcome, though we do tend to lean between 30-65 in age. You may bring a plus one but most folks show up alone… either way you’ll leave with a friend!

Seats are limited though, so snag your ticket below.

Tucked along N. Harrison Ave near the Walmart, Nepal House is one of those spots you drive past a hundred times, then kick yourself for not stopping sooner.

It's a family-owned kitchen serving Nepali and Indian food. Never had Nepali? Think of it as a cousin to Indian with a similar family of flavors, but a lighter hand on the spices.

The signature is momo (steamed or fried Nepali dumplings), with vegetarian options and a few great noodle dishes too. Most entrees land in the $14 to 18 range, portions are generous, and they're open daily except Tuesday, 11AM to 9PM, for dine-in or takeout.

The Mayor issued a statement yesterday on the passing of Ed Yerha, linked below. We wish his family and friends the best during this difficult time.

There are a handful of community meetings before the month is out, including two meetings for Town Council. Look for things to pick up in September.

Wednesday, August 26th: Open Mic Night - 7:00PM to 10:00PM · Bond Brothers Eastside Music Venue hosts a free open mic night, with signups starting at 6:45. Setup + piano, guitar, and kit provided but bring your own instrument if you’d rather.

Thursday, August 27th: Mary Oliver: Saved By The Beauty of The World - 2PM to 3:40PM · The Cary Theater will be playing a documentary on Pulitzer Prize Winner, Mary Oliver. She was an American Poet who lived around Cape Cod and was devoted to nature and the human relationship with it.

Friday August 28th: Retro Rhythm Swing Era Dance Lessons - 7:30PM to 9:30PM · Downtown Cary Park, Great Lawn. Join Joel and Jackie for free dance lessons covering the Charleston, 6-count swing dances, and Lindy. All ages welcome, open to the public.

Saturday, August 29th: Cary Farmers Market - 9AM to 12PM · East Park Street near Downtown Cary Park hosts the weekly market. Check the link to plan your visit or see what is available (link is updated every Friday).

Saturday, August 29th: Women’s Maker Market - 11AM to 2PM · Waverly Place at 302 Colonades Way is a family friendly market for local, women owned brands. The event is pet friendly and will have food vendors as well.
