Architect-Designed Pet Houses Hit Downtown Cary Park!

Source: Barkitecture Instagram

Remember last month when we said Barkitecture needed volunteers? Well, not only did Cary Digest readers help them meet their volunteer goal, this Saturday is the big day!

Triangle Barkitecture takes over Downtown Cary Park on Saturday, October 10th from 1PM to 5PM. Local architects and designers build one-of-a-kind homes for pets, and every one of them gets auctioned off to help local animal rescues.

There is more to do outside of looking at all of the pet houses though! Fan favorites like the Kitten Cuddle Room (yes, you really can join this), Howl-o-Ween pet costume competition, and more return this year as well!

If you want to help support a good cause without bidding, bring a bag of pet food for the donation drive as well. Admission is free and leashed pets are welcome, so bring the dog (costume optional but recommended). It's also the last featured event of the park's Barktoberfest series, so let’s help them close it out strong!

This is not sponsored but I do know the lovely people who run this event and want to support where I can. See you out there on Saturday!

Partnered with Whole Brain Escape!

There's a fun adventure waiting right next door at Whole Brain Escape!

Owner Heather Chandler and Designer Rafael Chandler spent their careers making video game worlds before opening up Apex's first escape room. You and up to nine others get one hour to solve puzzles and escape rooms they designed themselves.

Visit the Weird & Wild West, travel back thousands of years to the Tomb of the Pharaoh, or even escape Blackbeard’s hideout off the Carolina Coast!

Great for family night, a birthday, or finally getting your co-workers together. Leave the phones out of it and enjoy a device-free hour as you work to solve puzzles and find clues.

Check them out at 410 Upchurch St in Downtown Apex, just down the road from Cary!
